Open Arms Shelter is a Christian faith-based homeless shelter.
All prospective residents must complete an intake process and interview for admission. This is an opportunity for us to share information about our program and to determine mutually if you would be a good fit.
1) How do I schedule an intake?
To schedule an intake appointment, please call 903-449-4451 during the hours of 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM Monday through Friday and speak to the director for a pre-screening. After speaking with the director, if it is determined you may be a good fit for our program, you will be scheduled for an intake. Intakes are scheduled between 9:00 AM and 12:00 PM, Monday through Friday. You may also request an intake interview and pre-screening by filling out the form below.
2) What do I need to bring with me?
You will need to bring a photo ID, be prepared to pass a drug screen, breathalyzer, criminal background check, and sex offender check.
3) Will I have storage space and are there any contraband items?
You will be issued one locker and one under-bed storage tub. All of your belongings must fit in either your locker or tub. The following items are contraband and will be confiscated:

4) How long can I stay?
All stays are initially permitted for one week. We have two program options that have different requirements and lengths of stay. This will be discussed in-depth at your intake interview.
